Historian Bill Oddo's definitive history of Bellevue is told through photos. It's a true treasure and beautiful 240-page hardbound book with photos taken from the late 1800's through the mid-1900's and beyond.
Historian Bill Oddo's popular book, Bellevue - A Pictorial History is being reprinted by The Bellevue Historical Society as a fund raising project to benefit the Tremont House renovation. This book was originally printed in 2005 to help pay for the purchase of the Tremont House at 101 East Main Street (formerly Leonard's Pharmacy). Bill donated his time, knowledge and extensive collection of Bellevue photos to make his book a wonderful success. The Samuel S. Johnson Foundation of Redmond, Oregon, provided a grant for the publishing costs. In 2007, because of the success of the book, the Tremont House was paid for.
In 2015, The Bellevue Historical Society is having copies of the book reprinted. So, if you missed purchasing a copy in 2005 or if you are just now learning of its existence, here is your chance! Proceeds for the sales of the book will be used for the renovation of the Tremont House, an 1846 architectural treasure. Purchases made will contribute to our fundraising project. Please help us save this unique part of Bellevue history.
