3rd annual Harvest Barn Dance

DATE:  Saturday, September 28th
TIME:  6pm - 10pm

LOCATION:  Schaeffer Barn in conjunction with the Historic Lyme Village

Join us when Jim Andrews, local artist and historian, will present this fasinating program on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 2PM at the Bellevue Society for the Arts, located at 205 Maples Street in Bellevue.

Jim will illustrate his talk with his original paintings of historic but doomed ships of the Great Lakes.  Jim's exhaustive research and amazing talent bring these stories to life and vividly show the rigors of life aboard both sailing ships and steamships.

Join us as Jim has a surprise in store - one of the ships has a local connection.  You need to hear him tell this story!  Jim's narrative and artistic skills are well known in the area.  His paintings have been diaplayed in galleries and shows all over the world.

Jim is a founding member and guiding light of the local Co-Op Art Gallery, Art@106.
This is a fundraising event with $20.00 tickets available at the door.

Yummy hors d'oeuvres and beverages from our local Copper Top Bake Shop will be provided.

Bellevue Cemetery Walk

This is an educational opportunity, not a spooky one.
Brian Foos, who knows the cemetery as well as anyone, will host a tour of the Bellevue City Cemetery on Thursday, September 20th at 6 P.M.
Brian will lead a walking tour while relating the cemetery’s history, featuring the graves of former prominent residents.
Wear comfortable shoes and meet Brian at 6:00 at the maintenance shed located on the south side of the cemetery located on Cemetery St.

There is no charge and all are welcome to join us on this walk.

General Membership Meeting –

This year, we are initiating a fall membership meeting.  It’s good to get together more than once every year to catch up with what’s going on with the Society and just enjoy good fellowship.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, October 18 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 285 West Main Street.
It will begin at 7:00 P.M.; however, for those interested, there will be a tour of the church beginning at 6:30.
This is the oldest church building in Bellevue with quite a bit of historical significance.
The program for the meeting will include the history of the Union Street Flag (see article on page ) by Mel Poeppelman and a presentation on Bellevue area artifacts by Jeb Bowen, Seneca County resident and archeologist with 30-plus years of experience researching the prehistoric people of Ohio.

Hope to see you there.
